The brand debuted with the Anadol A1 (1966-1975), the second Turkish car after the unsuccessful Devrim sedan of 1961. Designed in collaboration with the British company Reliant, it utilized Ford engines and chassis, making it an affordable option for Turkish families.

Anadol was born from the vision of Turkish entrepreneurs Vehbi Koç and Rahmi Koç. In 1963, they were inspired by a fiberglass Israeli car at the Izmir Fair, prompting them to produce a cost-effective Turkish vehicle using the same material.

Seven Anadol models were produced, including the Anadol A1, the Anadol A2 (1970-1981)—the world’s first fiberglass-bodied four-door sedan—and the Anadol STC-16 (1973-1975), Turkey’s first sports car. Other models included the SV-1600, Böcek, and A8-16.
