Established in 2016 in Hong Kong by Chinese engineer Tik Lou, XEV has a design office in Turin, Italy. In 2019, it acquired a production facility in Shanghai to manufacture its Yoyo model. The production model debuted at the 2021 IAA Munich and was showcased at the 2022 Paris Motor Show.
