History of Qoros

Founded in 2007 as Chery Quantum Automotive Corporation (CQAC), Qoros became Qoros Auto in 2011. The company started with a $1.5 billion initial investment, aiming to produce high-quality cars for Chinese and European markets. In 2010, Qoros relocated its plant to Changshu Economic & Technological Development Zone. It launched its first production car, the Qoros 3 Sedan, in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show, followed by the Qoros 3 Hatch and Qoros 3 City SUV. In 2015, it unveiled the Qoros 5 SUV, and in 2020, introduced the Qoros 7. Qoros earned multiple international design awards, including the Red Dot Design Award. In 2017, Baoneng Group acquired a 51% stake, but financial difficulties led to the company’s dissolution in 2022.
